Royal Indulgence
Superior quality 100% pure Ceylon Tea Natural Ingredients Free from artificial additives
Royal Indulgence is our OPA-grade Ceylon black tea from Ruhuna — larger, bold whole leaves that look as handsome in the pot as they taste in the cup. Grown in Sri Lanka's warm southern lowlands, OPA stands apart with its open, twisted leaf and unhurried character.
The liquor glows bright amber with a light, fresh elegance and the most delicate body in our black tea range. Allow a full steep so the long leaf can unfurl; the reward is a smooth, refined cup made for quiet indulgence.
How to brew Royal Indulgence
Grown in the warm lowlands of Ruhuna in southern Ceylon, our long, twisted OPA leaf opens slowly into a bright amber cup that is light, fresh and elegant. Give it water just off the boil and a full steep to let the leaf open.
Light-bodied, fresh and gracefully smooth — an indulgent whole-leaf tea for quiet moments. Steep the full 5 minutes to draw out its depth, or around 3 minutes for a more delicate cup. The long leaf has plenty left to give, so enjoy a second, slightly shorter infusion. Enjoy it plain to savour its delicate freshness, or sweeten lightly with honey or sugar.

Where It's Grown
Ruhuna lies in Sri Lanka's deep south, where tea gardens roll across warm lowlands within reach of the Indian Ocean breeze. Below 600 metres, tropical warmth lets the leaf grow fast and long, and low-grown Ruhuna tea is prized for its handsome leaf, natural sweetness and generous, honeyed depth.
Our Royal Indulgence (OPA grade) brings this character to the cup: light bodied and fresh.
Watered by both the southwest monsoon (May to September) and the northeast monsoon (December to February), Ruhuna is harvested right through the year. The drier spell from February to April brings its brightest, most fragrant flushes.
