Jasmine Green Tea
Superior quality 100% pure Ceylon Tea Natural Ingredients Free from artificial additives
Jasmine green tea is green tea scented with jasmine for a soft, floral cup — here as 100% Ceylon GP2 from Uva, Sri Lanka, with natural jasmine oil and flowers in the blend. Medium pellet leaf brews a pale, aromatic liquor; steep at 80°C for three to five minutes. Enjoy hot or iced. Loose leaf from 100 g, plus pyramid bags and a gift tin.
How to brew Jasmine Green Tea
High-grown Ceylon green tea from Uva, scented with jasmine and rolled into GP2 pellets, opens into a pale, fragrant cup when you use cooler water than black tea — about 80°C and a few unhurried minutes.
Flowery and refreshing without heaviness. Steep for about 3 minutes for a lighter cup, or up to 5 minutes if you want more jasmine on the nose. Stop before the liquor turns bitter. Best plain so the jasmine stays clear, or with a little honey or lemon. Chill over ice for a clean summer cup — skip milk.

Where It's Grown
On the sun-drenched eastern slopes of Sri Lanka's central highlands, Uva is home to some of the most aromatic teas in the world. Between 900 and 1,500 metres, the leaf matures slowly in cool mountain air, building a crisp, clean briskness and a pronounced aroma with hints of wood and honey.
Our Jasmine Green Tea (GP2 grade) brings this character to the cup: flowery, aromatic & refreshing.
From December to February the northeast monsoon brings rain to these eastern hills. Then, from July to September, the dry, cool kachan winds of the southwest monsoon sweep over the mountains. This gentle stress concentrates flavour in the leaf, giving Uva's seasonal teas their famous mellow, almost wintergreen-like fragrance.
What is jasmine green tea?
Jasmine green tea starts with real green tea — leaves fixed while still green — then gains its signature perfume from jasmine. The result is a cup that smells floral and drinks light: green-tea freshness with jasmine on the lift, not a black-tea base and not a tisane of flowers alone.
Shoppers also search for jasmine tea, green tea and jasmine, and loose leaf jasmine green tea. Those phrases describe the same style; this page is TEA TOP’s Ceylon version in GP2 grade.

Taste profile and strength
Expect a pale, bright liquor with a flowery jasmine nose and a gentle green-tea body — refreshing rather than heavy. GP2 pellets give a consistent everyday cup: aromatic enough for afternoon, light enough for a second mug.
Steep at 80°C so the jasmine stays forward without bitterness. Honey, lemon, or ice suit the cup; milk does not.
Caffeine in jasmine green tea
We have not published a lab assay for this lot, so treat milligram figures as a typical range, not a promise. Ceylon green tea brewed as we recommend (2 g / 200 ml, 3–5 minutes, 80 °C) often falls around 20–45 mg of caffeine per cup — usually less than our black teas and far less than coffee. This is not decaffeinated jasmine tea. Shorter steeps extract less caffeine if you want a lighter cup.
How this jasmine compares
Ceylon vs Chinese jasmine: Many pearl and long-zhen styles use a Chinese green base rolled for slow, visual brewing. This is Sri Lankan Uva green tea — a brighter, cleaner Ceylon body with jasmine on top.
Organic Jasmine Green Tea is BOP1 from Idalgashinna with certified organic leaf. Stassen Jasmine Green Tea is single-origin Ceylon in tea-bag and envelope packs for everyday value.
Want jasmine off the cup? Try unscented Ceylon Gunpowder (GP1 pellets). Want black tea instead? Browse Ceylon green tea or our black tea range.
Best ways to enjoy
Morning or afternoon, hot and plain, is the natural fit. Brew a little stronger and pour over ice with lemon for summer. The 100 g + gift tin is an easy present; 250 g is the refill for daily loose-leaf drinkers.

“Great Taste”
This was a new tea for me as I usually purchase the more delicate flavours of white tea. However, I love this taste, a little more robust, perfect for enjoying earlier in the day when coffee just won't do.
