Brewer's note

Lively, comforting and warming — a spiced cup that turns any afternoon into a treat. Steep the full 5 minutes for a strong, aromatic brew that stands up to milk, or around 3 minutes for a lighter spiced tea to enjoy black. For a classic chai, add warmed milk and a touch of sugar or honey after brewing. Brew it double-strength and top with frothed milk for a café-style chai latte.

Where It's Grown

On the sun-drenched eastern slopes of Sri Lanka's central highlands, Uva is home to some of the most aromatic teas in the world. Between 900 and 1,500 metres, the leaf matures slowly in cool mountain air, building a crisp, clean briskness and a pronounced aroma with hints of wood and honey.

Our Ceylon Spice Chai (FBOP grade) brings this character to the cup: lively, comforting and warming.

Elevation 900–1,500 m
Monsoon Dry kachan winds
Best season July – September

From December to February the northeast monsoon brings rain to these eastern hills. Then, from July to September, the dry, cool kachan winds of the southwest monsoon sweep over the mountains. This gentle stress concentrates flavour in the leaf, giving Uva's seasonal teas their famous mellow, almost wintergreen-like fragrance.

“Best Chai Ever”

I love chai tea and this is my favorite!!! It's the perfect drink have in the winter but I love it all year too. It's easy to make at home. I put a teaspoon of honey in it to add a little bit of sweetness. The price is a little steep but for me it's worth it, This tea is very high quality.
